Adroit Controls have been working with the college for several years and were asked to investigate issues and failures with the system currently installed in their Ystrad Mynach campus.

Initially, we were able to recover the system to return some level of control, and later undertook a full dilapidation survey and produced a condition report which made several energy-based recommendations.

One recommendation was to upgrade the controllers to enable better visibility of the system via the server based Tridium workbench platform. This is hosted by the college IT team in a secured data centre, meaning access is possible from a variety of locations, and by a number of different personnel.

The implementation of the Tridium BMS has led to improved plant efficiency, reliability, and reduced energy consumption, without compromising comfort levels.
